Tutorial: Building a Clear Site

Navigation for this website is now ready and the owner of this website will be able to add and remove pages from the site.  Now we must insert dynamic content areas so that the owner of the site can change the content on their pages.

Dynamic Text

1. Open "text_page.html" in DreamWeaver.
2. Place the blinking cursor in the large white area of the design.
3. In the Clear Site toolbar click the  dynamic text icon.

Your page should now be identical to Figure I.

A Photo Gallery

1. Open "photo_page.html" in DreamWeaver.
2. Place the blinking cursor in the large white area of the design.
3. In the Clear Site toolbar click the  photo table icon.
4. A table properties window will appear (Figure II).  Set the table properties and click "OK".

• Rows: 3
• Columns: 4
• Cell Padding: 5
• Cell Spacing: 5
• Width: 100%
• Border: 0

Your page should now be identical to Figure III when viewed in DreamWeaver, and a bit more colorful when previewed in a browser (Figure IV).

• Save your work.

Discussion

The funky color scheme is for page preview purposes only.  When this module is part of a live Clear Site, each cell of the table will contain an image place holder.  The owner of the website will be able to place one image in each slot.
