Tutorial: Building a Clear Site

Now we are going to add Clear Site content management features to these designs.

1. Open both of the HTML files in DreamWeaver.
2. Place the blinking cursor in the light blue strip just below the Clear Site logo.
3. In the Clear Site toolbar click the  drop-down menu icon.
4. The wizard window in Figure I will appear.

• In the left-hand column, set "BG Color" to none .
• Click "OK" (your work should match Figure II).

Repeat this process in the other HTML file.

Discussion

You have just added a dynamic menu based navigation system to this website.  You can preview the menu system by saving the HTML files and opening them in a web browser (Figure IV).  Note that your browser may generate a security warning (Figure III) because the file is being opened locally (rather than through a web connection). If you see a warning, you will need to "allow blocked content."  In current windows based PCs you can do this by clicking on the security bar near the top of the browser window.  This warning will not appear when the site goes live for the public.
